‘O Little Town of Bethlehem’ (from our ‘It Came Upon The Midnight Clear and other carols’ string quartet CD) was collected by Ralph Vaughan Williams in 1903 from a Mr. Garman of Forest Green in Surrey. The melody was then combined with the text of ‘O Little Town of Bethlehem’ which had been written by the American Episcopal Priest Phillips Brooks in 1868. All the parts are fairly straightforward and are appropriate for both professional, student and amateur performers.
Available in two packages, for string quartet or for string orchestra. The string quartet package contains five pdf parts (1st violin, 2nd violin, viola, cello and full score). The string orchestra package contains six pdf parts (1st violin, 2nd violin, viola, cello, double bass, and full score).
