Recording Sessions

As experienced studio musicians, MHM are available for film and television work, supplying the strings for advertisements, corporate DVDs, pop or rock tracks.

Although synthesised strings are a quick and easy addition to a track, most top producers and directors insist on a live string section, because there is no comparison to the sound of real strings - played by professional session musicians on acoustic instruments. Violins, Violas and Cellos have a huge dynamic range, are extremely versatile and will bring a piece of music to life, adding colour, depth and expression.

Our high standard of sight reading means we can frequently record the track perfectly on the first take, keeping studio time and expense to a minimum. If you are working within a more limited budget, we are accomplished at over-dubbing instruments within the studio, so that with two or three instruments re-recorded many times, the sound can be multi-layered to create the effect of a full string orchestra – at a fraction of the cost.

The players are all extremely accurate sight readers and have appeared on dozens of television and film sound tracks including Harry Potter,
The Lord of the Rings, Eragon, The Da Vinci Code,
Batman Returns, The Gathering Storm and
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
