Concert at West End House, Cheddington

Last Sunday, Adrian Smith (Viola) and I gave an intimate concert in the garden of a local private house - the event was held jointly in aid of the St Giles Church Bell Restoration Fund and Cancer Research UK. Although there are many ‘picnic concerts’ of classical music which involve a full sized orchestra, this [...]

An Alphabet of Music, Friday the 13th May, Cheddington

This Friday, we are very much looking forward to playing again in our local village church, St Giles in Cheddington. The church are splitting the profits from the concert between the ‘Cherish Your Church’ campaign and the St Giles Church Bell Restoration Appeal.
As usual, we will be presenting a programme of light and popular pieces [...]

Christmas Concert - I Saw Three Ships, St Giles, Cheddington

Last night (Friday the 10th December) we gave our first Christmas concert of 2010 in our village church,  St Giles - Cheddington. As ever, there was a good audience of around 80 people, many of whom had seen us perform before and the atmosphere was very festive with plenty of mulled wine, mince pies, candles [...]

As the quartet are playing the same concert for a recital series in Essex next [...]

Candlelit Concert, St Giles, Cheddington

On Friday the 11th December we  really got into the Christmas spirit with a programme of winter and festive music performed by candlelight in our village Church, St Giles, Cheddington. This is the fourth time we’ve performed in the church and word seems to have got around because by the week of the concert, the organisers [...]

Concert at St Giles Church, 15th May 2009

Despite forecasts of rain, the weather was absolutely beautiful on the Friday evening of our village church concert and brought the audience out en masse. I think that it’s not a bad way to end the working week - coming along to a country church and enjoying a glass of wine whilst hearing some classical music.
Everyone [...]

Concert at St Giles Church - Preparation!

Although the quartet are very accustomed to travelling long distances to play, this week, it’s particularly nice to be playing a concert about a five minute walk from my house. We’re going to be performing a concert tomorrow evening in St Giles Church in our home village of Cheddington - and have been working hard [...]
