Yesterday, we played for a Thursday wedding held at Pembroke Lodge in Richmond Park.  Formerly home to the Victorian Prime Minister Lord John Russell as well as the philosopher Bertrand Russell, the venue lent an understated elegance to the proceedings. The string duo proved to be perfect for the ceremony held in the Lord John Russell Suite as it fit perfectly next to the registrar’s desk (a wedding string quartet would have taken up too much space) and projected effortlessly to the 70 or so guests.

Afterwards, everybody vacated the room and enjoyed their reception drinks and canapes on the patio and gardens adjoining the Belvedere restaurant. This afforded a wonderfully elevated view across this particular area of London and the string duo (after finding a shaded area) entertained the guests with a wide variety of different music until everyone went inside for the wedding breakfast.
