Wedding at Stoke Place, Stoke Poges, Bucks
On Monday, we performed as a violin and cello duo for a wedding held at Stoke Place in Stoke Poges, Buckinghamshire. Like the wedding on Saturday, this was another local engagement for us and it was a pleasure to return, particularly as the staff are so friendly and make us feel very welcome.
We played for 15 minutes prior to the ceremony as guests took their seats and performed music to accompany the entrance of the bride, signing of the register and exit of the married couple. After this, the guests filtered into the next room where we briefly joined them before they went outside for photographs. One particular advantage about playing as a string duo is that it’s very easy to re-locate between rooms or spaces as the guests and wedding party move through different areas.
We finished just as the bridal couple were due to enter for the wedding breakfast and were able to speak briefly with a delighted bride who was very happy with the way the music had contributed to their day.
