Wedding at Stoke Place, Stoke Poges, Bucks
On Sunday, Julia and I travelled down to the other end of Buckinghamshire to perform as a string duo for a wedding held in Stoke Place, near Stoke Poges. We played a selection of contemporary and upbeat music at the request of the bride and groom as well as playing for various points during the ceremony, to lend an elegant atmosphere to the proceedings.
As it was a beautiful, warm spring day, the guests moved outside for photographs and at this point, we re-located to the other end of the venue and continued to play during reception drinks, keeping everyone entertained whilst the photographs took place.
We had the opportunity to speak to many guests who made a special point of coming over to compliment us on the music. Stoke Place is a lovely venue, with the ceremony room itself ideally suited to a string duo, so we hope to return to play there again.
