Wedding at Old Luxters Barn near High Wycombe

Last Thursday, we played for a wedding held in the beautiful venue of Old Luxters Barn which is on the border between Oxfordshire and South Buckinghamshire. Although Thursday weddings used to be uncommon, they are becoming increasingly popular as many suppliers have better availability than they would do on a peak Saturday over the summer.

This was an excellent example of a wedding venue ideally suited to a string duo. As there were around 40 guests, a string quartet could potentially have drowned out conversation and taken up quite a lot of space. As it was a wet day, guests sheltered indoors before the ceremony and we kept them entertained as they waited for the bride to arrive. After the ceremony, the wedding party made their way into an adjacent marquee to enjoy drinks and we joined them to provide a selection of much more upbeat, celebratory music and received many appreciative comments!
