String Quartet for a Wedding at Notley Tythe Barn near Aylesbury
This week our string quartet returned once again to play at Notley Tythe Barn which is a wedding venue very near to us in Buckinghamshire. The wedding took place on a Monday which although previously a rarity is rapidly becoming a more popular day of the week to get married.
We provided music as guests entered and were seated and with a signal from Nick (who owns the barn) we accompanied the entrance of the bride with Pachelbel’s Canon in D. We played Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto no. 3 for the signing of the register as well as the Prelude from Carmen by Bizet. The couple exited to the Mendelssohn wedding march and we then re-located to a gazebo on the lawn where we entered guests and the wedding party with a more upbeat selection of modern pop music for string quartet which was enjoyed by all.
We look forward to playing again at Notley in the near future.
