Wedding at St Mary’s Church, Milton Keynes

On Saturday, Emma and I performed for the second time in two days as a violin and viola duo. The duo fitted perfectly into a space at the right hand side of the Nave in St Mary’s Church, Haversham. We were able to project with little difficulty and played for the bridal entrance, signing of the register and exit of the married couple before joining all the guests at the reception (held at the Groom’s parents house nearby).

The reception venue - with a spacious marquee - was so pleasant and well organised that I thought it was a regular wedding venue until about halfway through the afternoon. I asked whether the gentleman who had brought over our chairs worked there and was surpised when he answered that he lived there (with it being his house!). Again the weather was beautifully bright and sunny. This limited the options of where we could be situated and as a result, we chose to play in a shaded corner which despite not being central meant that most of the guests could enjoy our selection of music which had been chosen in detail by the bridal couple.
