Wedding at Weston Manor, Oxfordshire

By vaughan • July 31, 2011 • Posted in: Weddings

On Friday, Emma (viola) and I performed as a string duo for a couple who had flown over from Australia to get married at Weston Manor in Oxfordshire. The wedding ceremony itself took place in a part of the garden which was enclosed by high hedges. As it was an overcast day, we were able to set up without the risk of hot direct sunlight which can damage stringed instruments.

After the ceremony had concluded, the guests made their way to an open lawn area and we entertained groups of people until the photographer co-ordinated some group photos. We then continued to play until the wedding breakfast was announced and guests began to file in. The combination of a string duo provided ideal for this occasion, providing a background of music which complimented the celebrations perfectly.
