Wedding at Caxton, Cambridgeshire
Last Saturday, the quartet played for a wedding in Caxton, Cambridgeshire. We started in St Andrew’s Church and played music as guests entered the church and took their seats. The bride entered to Handel’s Arrival of the Queen of Sheba with the Massenet Meditation played during the signing of the register. The couple exited to a piece played by the Church Organist.
We then made the short journey to Longstowe Hall for the drinks reception. Here we played a much livelier selection of upbeat music to give a celebratory feel and accompany drinks and photographs. It was the first time we’d played at Longstowe and it’s an ideal venue for a string quartet with beautiful gardens that make a lovely setting for live music.
