Last night the string quartet were booked to provide music for a retirement party held aboard the boat ‘Naticia’ as it cruised up the Thames in London. The gentleman who was retiring was a company director and most of the guests were his work colleagues who enjoyed the cruise starting at Embankment and passing many of the most famous landmarks in London along the way.

We played a diverse selection of music to reflect the personal favourites of the guest of honour as well as musical choices designed to suit all tastes, including plenty of pop songs for string quartet which were a real hit with the guests. It was an unusual experience to play aboard a boat as there was a fair amount of rocking and movement (as well as our viola player feeling a little queasy!).

We had a lot of interaction with guests, many of whom had travelled from Germany to be present and were delighted by the live music we provided.
