Manor House Music String Quartet Weblog

Wedding at Yaxley Hall, Suffolk

On Friday, the quartet played at the Elizabethan Manor House in Yaxley. Although this venue is not exactly on our doorstep (being a 250 mile round trip), it was nevertheless a beautiful venue to play at.

We started by playing beneath a gazebo as the guests arrived and were seated. The Pachelbel Canon in D was played as the flower girls and family members entered and we switched to Bach’s Arioso for the entrance of the bride. The whole ceremony was held outdoors with the formal signing of the register taking place underneath a wooden structure at the front - this is required by law.

The gazebo was then moved to the side of the house (in it’s spacious grounds) and we continued to play a more upbeat and modern set of music as guests enjoyed champagne and canapes. All of the pieces were individually hand picked by the bridal couple to give a really personalised feel to the day.
