Wedding at Prested Hall, Essex

On Thursday, Adrian and I performed as a string duo for a wedding held at Prested Hall in Essex. This was the first time we’d played at this charming venue and it was a fine, warm day. Although Thursday isn’t the obvious choice of day for a wedding, it worked really well as an intimate gathering of family and friends, ideal for a string duo.

We played for three hours, spread across a time period of four hours (with four 15 minute breaks). This is an option popular with many clients as it means that when there are natural breaks in the proceedings where music isn’t required, they will only end up paying for the amount of time that we actually play. Many groups would charge a set amount regardless of whether they are playing continually or not. By having small breaks at points when the music won’t be missed (such as during speeches or as guests go outside to be photographed), the music can be played during the wedding breakfast as well as reception drinks and ceremony for an affordable price.
