Wedding at Ivinghoe Church and reception at Woburn Abbey

By vaughan • April 2, 2011 • Posted in: Weddings

On Thursday, we played for an incredibly local wedding in Ivinghoe (the next village along) and reception nearby at the Sculpture Gallery in Woburn Abbey. As it was an intimate wedding with about 60 guests, a string duo was perfect and we played for the bridal entrance, signing of the register, exit of the couple as well as accompanying the hymns which included a less commonly known piece called ‘O Perfect Love’. Immediately after the ceremony, guests took the opportunity to have photographs taken outside the church as some wonderful bell ringing created a traditional accompaniment.

We managed to leave ahead of the guests and arrive at Woburn so that we could play as they began to arrive for the drinks reception and played for just over an hour before the wedding breakfast was due to begin.
