Wedding at Friern Manor Country House

Yesterday, Emma (cellist) and myself played as a string duo for a wedding held at Friern Manor Country House in Essex. We started playing as guests assembled for the ceremony at the front of the building. The corner of the room held a piano and we positioned ourselves in front of this, in an open foyer type area so that guests could hear the music as they passed through.

Next, we moved through to the ceremony room and played for the entrance, signing of the register and exit of the bridal couple. This was followed by an hour or so in which we played an upbeat selection of music which had been hand picked by the wedding couple and included many of their favourites, finishing towards the end of the wedding breakfast. Overall we had many enthusiastic comments from guests who had enjoyed hearing live music throughout the day.
