Christmas Concert in Haddenham Church

By vaughan • December 28, 2010 • Posted in: Concerts and recitals

On Friday the 17th December, we performed a second concert in St. Mary’s church, Haddenham (just outside Aylesbury on the Buckinghamshire/Oxfordshire border). It was a chilly evening which made travelling difficult as the roads were icy and several inches of snow lay on the ground - this is just one of the problems inherent in putting on seasonal concerts. Despite all of this the show went ahead and we performed a varied programme of festive music to a responsive audience.

The music we played was very similar to the concerts in both Cheddington and Hornchurch with plenty of festive popular classics and carols from the ‘I Saw Three Ships and other carols’ disc - copies of which were enthusiastically purchased by many audience members during the interval.

We finished the recital with a rousing version of ‘Trish Trasch Polka’ by Strauss - as a small preview for our forthcoming New Years Day concert at 7:30pmĀ  in Ivinghoe Church.
