Wedding at Cooling Castle, Kent
Although Cooling Castle is not on our doorstep, it was a real pleasure to be asked to play for a wedding there on Saturday. Ali (cellist) and myself provided a string duo for there ceremony and drinks reception and as the groom is a rugby player, we were asked to play ‘Jerusalem’ and ‘Swing Low Sweet Chariot’ for the signing of the register. After the ceremony itself, we re-located to the bar area and played some more upbeat numbers as the guests enjoyed reception drinks and canape’s. One nice feature of the day was working with a wonderful female toastmaster who allowed the day to run smoothly and had a real sense of decorum. Nothing seemed to be too much to ask and it left us wondering why there aren’t more lady toastmasters as she made a much better job of it than many of the male toastmasters we have come across!
