Wedding at Wasing Park, Berkshire.
Yesterday we played for a wedding at Wasing Park, near Aldermaston in Berkshire. Due to a shortage of space we played as a string duo before and during the ceremony, later being joined by two of our colleagues to play as a full quartet during the drinks reception.
Wasing Park has it’s own church within a two minute walk of the main venue, so couples can have a church wedding before walking across to the place where their reception will be held.
In the church, we were joined by a singer who sang Schubert’s Ave Maria, accompanied by the violin and cello - this was an unusual and personalised touch to the ceremony and was appreciated by guests as the register was being signed.
