Wedding at Chartridge Conference Centre
Sunday was a beautiful June day and we returned to the Chartridge Conference Centre (just outside Chesham) as a string duo to perform at a wedding. The conference centre is set inside 25 acres of beautiful countryside and hosts many corporate hospitality events as well as conferences, birthday parties, anniversaries and weddings. The venue is ideally suited for a string duo and in the ceremony, the violin and viola duo fit perfectly between the registrars desk and the guests sitting in the side rows. The versatility of a duo comes into it’s own in such a setting, where a string quartet would be overwhelming in sound as well as taking up too much valuable space.
After we had played for the ceremony, the guests moved outdoors for the drinks reception and we were able to use the shade of a parasol to position ourselves close to the assembled wedding party and provide music that seemed to be enjoyed by all. It was a very family friendly occasion, with many of the babies and toddlers taking an active interest in our music!
