Returning to Waddesdon Old Dairy

On Saturday, we returned yet again to the Old Dairy at Waddesdon in Buckinghamshire. As this is probably one of our most local venues, just a few miles from home, we always enjoy playing there. The quartet were set up in a bay window area that acted as the aisle for the bride who approached from outside. As a special request, we had been asked to arrange a particular piece from a film which was performed as the last piece before the bridal entrance. This piece was an absolute favourite of the groom and added a very personal touch to the wedding!

After the ceremony, guests went outside for photographs whilst the wedding room was ‘turned around’ to accommodate reception drinks. We then entertained guests of all ages with a selection of upbeat music. During a short break, we were approached by one family where an elderly lady was especially interested in hearing her great granddaughter try out a violin for the first time. The young girl drew the bow across the string with a little help from another violinist in our group and was delighted at the result. After her performance debut, we resumed playing a variety of music, and received many positive comments from the assembled guests.
