Wedding at the Sculpture Gallery, Woburn
Last Friday we were delighted to return once again to a local venue - the stunning Sculpture Gallery which is part of Woburn Abbey. It is a bold and impressive place, steeped in history and perfect for string quartets in the fact that the gallery has a central area which is perfect for music as well as having a raised dais at the front which does obscure the group with roman columns but nevertheless affords the guests an excellent acoustic and the music projects effortlessly.
In the past, we’ve played as a string duo at Woburn but on Friday there were four of us as it was a much larger gathering. We played before the ceremony, the ceremony itself and entertained guests during the reception drinks in the adjoining bar area before returning to the raised platform to provide music during the wedding breakfast.
