Law Society Dinner
A week ago, we were delighted to be asked to play for a formal dinner at the Law Society in Chancery Lane, London. The event was organised by some law students and they took great pleasure in booking a string quartet where they were able to choose every single piece themselves. Some quartets with smaller repertoires prefer to simply turn up and play whatever is in their folders at the time, but with so much to choose from, we frequently find clients want to hand pick a personalised playlist to include requests and favourites.
The impressive hall had it’s own PA system as well as a raised stage at the front that enabled four acoustic instruments (which might otherwise have been thoroughly drowned out) to project at least to the front half of the hall which contained over 300 people chatting and enjoying themselves. Although we had expected to be performing ‘background music’ to set the atmosphere during dinner, in the end, it turned into more of a concert with applause after each piece and several encores!
