Wedding at Hothorpe Hall, Leicestershire
On Saturday our duo was booked to play for a wedding up in Leicestershire at Hothorpe Hall - a venue which despite being a 60 mile drive away was quite easy for us to get to up the M1. Set in spacious grounds with some terrific views of the surrounding countryside, this wedding venue was built in 1799 and is still an imposing and attractive building. It was an ideal venue for a string duo as the wedding room offered us the chance to be at the front, near the registrar - which is ideal for us to see all the proceedings and time the music perfectly. Often when the musicians are seated at the back of a room, it is slightly more difficult to see what is going on.
After the ceremony, there was a short break for photographs but it wasn’t long before all the guests (drinks in hand!) were back for the reception in the same room and we were able to entertain all age groups with a nice selection of music.
