Last week we played at a wedding in Bromley down in Kent. It was a small gathering so the string duo combination of violin and viola was absolutely ideal for the occasion. With in the region of 50 guests and the rooms at Sundridge having an 18th century feel, it was like playing chamber music in a drawing room (which is what it was originally intended for). The atmosphere was very warm and friendly with some young parents whose babies and toddlers seemed to respond very favourably to the music and many of the guests came up to speak to us during the day. The volume of a string duo was absolutely perfect as wedding entertainment which allowed guests to chat without being drowned out by the larger sound of a wedding string quartet.

We had some lovely comments and the music added to the celebratory atmosphere without drowning out conversation.
