Wedding at Quendon Hall
With September proving to be almost as popular a month to get married as August, we’ve still got a full diary every weekend, with Friday’s and Sunday’s being in high demand as well as Saturdays. This weekend, we played for weddings as far afield as in Evesham (Worcestershire) and returned once more to Parklands Quendon Hall- a venue on the border of Essex and Hertfordshire.
Saturday was a beautiful sunny day and actually quite warm - and as we arrived guests were beginning to assemble. We provided music before the ceremony itself to create an ambiance as people were seated and when were given the signal, we played the traditional bridal chorus from Lohengrin for the entrance of the bride. During the signing of the register we had time to play the full length version of Canon in D by Pachelbel with another personal choice of music for the exit of the married couple.
After the ceremony, everyone made their way to the other side of the hall where there was a lawn with a beautiful fountain and two large umbrellas to provide shade. Alongside group photographs, guests were able to sit and enjoy a drink as the bar area was very nearby to where we were playing - we performed a wide selection of upbeat music which was enjoyed by all. The lawn area led directly in to the room where the wedding breakfast was to be held and this is where our part in the day ended.
Although we are already halfway through September, the weather has still been very kind to us and it’s been perfectly possible to play outdoors for autumn weddings - let’s see what next month brings for all the forthcoming October weddings!
