Wedding at Ware Priory
On Friday we returned once again to play for a wedding at Ware Priory in Hertfordshire. With around 60 guests, the bridal couple had opted for a string duo, choosing the violin / viola combination which is extremely versatile in terms of repertoire. After playing during the ceremony itself, we moved outside with the guests onto the lawns and enjoyed performing in the spacious grounds. The weather was dry but when dark clouds began to loom overhead, many people wisely decided to move back indoors to avoid a soaking.
Once inside, we gave everyone a real mixture of music during the champagne reception and after a short break, we provided background music during the start of the wedding breakfast. There were quite a few young children at the wedding and many of them seemed to really enjoy the music, dancing around whilst we played - this just goes to show that classical music can appeal to all age groups!
